about

Purpose is not always found by intent. Walk long enough and even aimless wanderings start forming a path.

Fellow driving enthusiasts would agree that a journey seldom follows the exact roadmap you start with. Mine began with possibilities of becoming a techie; took a diversion to passion for armed forces; and crossed over to fascination for words.

I have stuck to this road for over three decades now, donning different hats of a copywriter, editor, instructional designer, researcher, storyteller, and author. Fellow travellers and intermediate destinations keep changing, but the pursuit remains the same – lending clarity to complexity and creating something meaningful from sketchy briefs and ideas.

Finding the purpose of my life as a destination somewhere ahead is not a motivation anymore. Perhaps it is this journey. Here is a brief account of my travels so far.

Beyond Work

Writer & Author

Stories, Books & Reflections

Finding breaks for passion from profession dabbling in fiction, children’s literature, personal narratives, and random outpours.

Beyond roads and milestones...

Some journeys need no itineraries and milestones. Not all passions need to be worked and monetized. Here are a few things I love doing for myself, friends, and my lovely extended family.

cooking

Cooking for me is inspiration, brainstorming, and stress-relief all rolled into one. If it is vegetarian and you have a recipe and ingredients; I can put it on a plate for you whichever the cuisine. It may not look wow but there is a good chance it would be yum!

driving

Driving, to me, is more than commuting or exploring. It is freedom. Feeling one with my vehicle and expanding my spatial awareness to 14 by 6 feet while coasting along unfamiliar roads is quite meditative. Retraining my instincts after losing my nerve to drive for eight years after my surgery makes it all the more special. Bear with my swearing and I will take you for a spin!

music

Music is my mood setter for solitary sit-downs. I rarely listen to music in company. Songs jog my memory better than any conversation. I can revisit joyful or jaded moments in my life simply by choosing a playlist. Hindustani or Firangi, like me my taste in music is quite retro and my favorite genre – Love!

faith

Faith is a matter of choice, and I choose to have it very passionately. Despite my unquestioning belief in Hindu doctrines, I am neither intolerant nor God-fearing. I absolutely adore my deity. My path is not of knowledge or logic. It is of unconditional love, surrender and service. I say it here because it sums up everything about me. Have an opinion on this? Do get in touch.
